School of Complementary Medicine Clinic Celebrates Opening of New Teaching Garden

By Lincoln College

The Complementary Medicine Clinic is delighted to announce the opening of its newly established herbal garden, a vibrant and educational space designed to support the growth and study of medicinal plants.

In recent weeks, students from the BSc (Hons) Clinical Herbalism degree programme have been hard at work preparing the garden beds and planting the first selection of herbs.

The garden will serve as a living classroom, providing hands-on learning opportunities that will deepen students’ understanding of plant cultivation, identification, and therapeutic use.

"We are thrilled to have this dedicated space where our exceptional herbal plants can thrive," said Michelle Jaafar, Clinic Technician. "This garden will be an invaluable resource for our students and an important addition to their learning journey."

The project has been met with enthusiastic support, and the herbal team extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the development of the new plot. The garden not only enhances the academic environment but also strengthens the clinic’s mission to connect people more closely with the healing power of plants.

Photographs of the garden show the early stages of planting and preparation, capturing the excitement and care that students have brought to this new chapter in their education.

The clinic looks forward to watching the garden grow, and with it, the knowledge and passion of the next generation of herbal practitioners.

It’s not too late to apply for our BSc (Hons) Clinical Herbalism course for September 2025 entry. Learn more here: https://complementarymedicines.co.uk/courses
