Lincoln College University Centre, which offers more than 40 degree-level courses and provides students with small groups sizes, more contact time with industry expert tutors and condensed timetables to fit around students’ jobs, has been awarded Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Silver.
A panel of Higher Education experts recognised the Centre for its “teaching, assessment and feedback”, the “research, innovation, scholarship, professional practice and employer engagement” as well as the “staff professional development and academic practice”, “learning environment and academic support”, “learning resources” and “student engagement”.
The Teaching Excellence Framework was introduced by the Office for Students in 2016/17 as a kitemark for teaching excellence across the UK Higher Education sector.
Lincoln College was first awarded TEF Silver in June 2017 following the first application cycle and has successfully retained the stamp mark in 2023 after being re-assessed under the new framework for 2023.
The panel also noted “approaches to supporting student success”, “continuation and completion rates” and “progression rates” as of significant benefit to students.
Lincoln College Group CEO, Mark Locking, said: “The TEF silver ranking is a fantastic endorsement of our Career Degree programmes, which embodies our mission to be employer-led, building a highly skilled, productive local workforce.
“Our Career Degrees, which include cash bursaries to supplement degrees with extra industry qualifications or support students’ independent learning, are designed to put our students ahead of the game after finishing their studies.
“With small class sizes, condensed timetables and fantastic facilities, students leave well equipped for their future careers.”
