Lincoln College Herbal Conference Celebrates Inspiring Inaugural Event

By Lincoln College

The Lincoln College Herbal Conference brought together herbalists, students, and plant enthusiasts on Saturday 25th April 2026 for a vibrant day dedicated to the power and potential of herbal medicine.

Held in the heart of Lincolnshire at the Lincoln College campus, the inaugural event delivered a rich and engaging programme of expert talks, hands-on workshops, and opportunities for meaningful connection within the herbal community.

The day opened with a warm welcome and keynote speech from Ali English, setting the tone for a diverse and insightful schedule. Attendees heard from a range of expert speakers including Martin Powell, Jody Knapp, Dr. Feeroz Jaafar, and Natasha Richardson, covering topics such as medicinal mushrooms, women’s health, global herbal traditions, and the integration of complementary medicine within the NHS.

Alongside the talks, guests enjoyed browsing exhibitor stalls filled with herbal products and books, as well as a complimentary lunch provided by The Savvy Herbalist Apothecary.

The afternoon offered a choice of practical workshops, where participants could either craft herbal mocktails or create their own herbal bath products, adding a hands-on element to the learning experience.

The conference concluded with a lively panel discussion led by Karl Bedson, giving attendees the chance to ask questions, reflect on the day, and share insights.

With seven hours of CPD, a branded goody bag, and a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere, the Lincoln College Herbal Conference proved to be both inspiring and impactful for all who attended.

Karl Bedson, Herbal Conference compere and lecturer on the BSc (Hons) Clinical Herbalism degree, said: “It’s been an absolutely fabulous day. It’s been a real success for our inaugural conference. The facilities, the technology, everything has worked wonderfully. The food was sublime and the lecturers and the guest speakers, for the short period of time we’ve had them, the quality of the information and the way it was received was excellent. I think the audience really enjoyed it.”

One delegate added: “Oh, it’s been brilliant. The tutors giving speeches and the authors that we’ve had in – it’s been amazing. And the food at lunchtime was absolutely delicious. So I’ve had a lovely day so far. Looking forward to next year’s.”

Following the success of this year’s event, plans are already underway for the 2027 conference, taking place on Saturday 24th April 2027.
